Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate, where's the configuration file/directory? Win7

    Question

  • I'm looking for the configuration file or directory because I want to copy an own default configuration after the installation to replace the old configuration (with a script). Can you tell me where the stuff get's saved? Somehow the directory LocalUser\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio does not really work. I just changed something in the Options, copied the directory then, undid the options, and replaced the directory with the copied one. The options from the copied file weren't there.

  • I already found out it's the .vsettings file somewhere in documents. I'll temporary put this thread as answered.

  • Is there even some sort of a main configuration? Or do I have to copy and replace every config file in the Program Files (x86)\Visual Studio 10.0?

  • Also tried copying the IDE directory from Common7 and it didn't work.
