  • Hi Jamil

    WebBrowser control is available only when run application as Desktop because Silverlight 4 don't support it.

    So, you can't use WebControl in LightSwitch in Web mode only in desktop mode.

    Instead, you can via LightSwitch open Web browser.

    Hope this help

  • Thanks Jamil,

    I noticed that :)

    And of course, it's not my concept.

    The answer to you question is NO, you can't use WebBrowser control in LightSwitch in Web Application Type due to Silverlight 4.

    Best regards

  • The Telerik HtmlPlaceHolder (http://www.telerik.com/products/silverlight/htmlplaceholder.aspx) control works well with LightSwitch but you will need to add <param name="windowless" value="true" /> to the Silverlight object tag.

    Thanks,
    AF

  • Where do I add the <param name="windowless" value="true" /> into the <object> ?

    I have everything else working (I think).

    Thank you.

  • Never mind...I figured this out.

    1.  Open IIS

    2.  Navigate to the installed LS application

    3.  In the right panel, go to the [Default Document] icon in the [IIS] area.

    4.  Make sure the document is [Default.htm]

    5.  In the left IIS pane right click on your installed LS app and select [Explore]

    6.  Edit the [Default.htm] document with your favorite editor (I still use VIM)

    7.  Add the parameter <param name="windowless" value="true" /> to the <object> tag
            <object ID=SilverlightApplication data="data:application/x-silverlight-2," type="application/x-silverlight-2" width="100%" height="100%">
                <param name="source" value="Web/ls_FramedUri.Client.xap?v=1.0.3.0?v=1.0.3.0"/>
                <param name="onerror" value="onSilverlightError" />
                <param name="background" value="white" />
                <!-- NEW PARAMETER HERE -->
                <param name="windowless" value="true" />
                <param name="minRuntimeVersion" value="5.0.61118.0" />
                <param name="autoUpgrade" value="true" />
                <a href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=124807" style="text-decoration: none;">
                    <img src="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=108181" alt="Get Microsoft Silverlight" style="border-style: none"/>
                </a>
            </object>

    Works a treat...
