mfc71u.dll, msvcp71.dll, msvcr71.dll Missing

    Question

  • Hello

                  I have an application which required to run some .dlls  which are missing on my desktop and that .dlls are  mfc71u.dll, msvcp71.dll,  msvcr71.dll.  So can you please tell me how to update so that my system can get these .dll  . Or is there any microsoft updates for VS 2005  are there after installing that my system can get that .dlls .

  • vcredist is the solution. it exist for all edition of visual c++

    look for download  Microsoft Visual C++ 200x Redistributable Package
    1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
    2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
    3. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

  • those are VC 2003 dlls. You must publish them with any software you wrote that depend on these dlls.
    VS 2003's mainstream support expired last year. There is no download link from Microsoft for these dlls. You should still be able to find them in your VC 2003 folder.

  • As ShengJiang pointed out, there is no download link for them currently, you could copy them from a machine that has the VS2003 installed, or search the web, such as here: http://www.dlldll.com/downdll/

  • Are these also the files to be used with Windows 7 (64 bit)? I have installed "Songwriter" from Finale music and it fails to run because it cannot find MSVCR71.dll.
