How do I install XNA on C# Express 2010?

    Question

  • I've successfully installed Visual Basic and C# 2010 Express on my PC, but when I try to install XNA, it says that I have to have 2008. Is it possible to install it on Express 2010, and if not, is there someplace I can download the Express 2010 offline ISO, because I have a very shaky and unpredictable internet connection, not to mention slow (average 4 kb/s), so it greatly helps me to use a download manager.

    Thanks in advance,

    Naartjie

  • Hi Naartjie,

    Thank you for your post.

Based on your description, it looks like that you want to install Microsoft XNA Game Studio 3 on your machine, right?

If yes, as the requirements mentioned on this page, Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition or Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition or higher is required to install XNA Game Studio 3.

I think that you need to install Visual C# 2008 Express Edition instead of Visual C# 2010 Express Edition.

You can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downloads/. Please check the tag of "Visual Studio 2008 Express".

Hope this helps! If you have any concern, please feel free to let me know.

    Best regards,
