Fixedsys Font

    Question

  • Visual Studio 2010 is missing the Fixedsys font ... which has been part of Visual Studio for a couple of decades.  How can Fixedsys be installed on Visual Studio?

"Thanks for the work-a-round, I found another font called FixedsysExcelsior301.ttf, which, for me, works acceptably."

"I'm not sure, but this might be happening because Fixedsys isn't TrueType. Fixedsys Excelsior is a TrueType font based on Fixedsys that should work instead."

  • I did an internet search for "FixedsysExcelsior301.ttf".  Can't find it.

Also, the comments that it can't be done because it is a raster font makes no sense. With today's technology, creating a Fixedsys type font (non-raster) that is compatible should be very doable.
