allow service to interact with desktop

    Question

  • I have a windows service and when i install it i need the 'allow service to interact with desktop' option to be checked in it's properties. Is it possible to set this from the command prompt?

  • "Interact with desktop" is bit 0x00000100 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<yourservice>\Type; you could set it in a .reg file run from the command line.

  • Please use config of Sc.exe:
    >sc config [service name] type= own type= interact
