Can you share a Deployment/Publish folder in older versions of Visual Studio?

    Question

  • I've been browsing for answers all day today and so far haven't had much luck. I'm doing some research for my team and what we're looking to do is share a TFS project so that multiple people can edit the solution at the same time. Normally, Visual Studio 2010 has a built-in option to make private folders public, but we're needing to use Visual Studios 2008, 2005, and 2003 because of this being a legacy project from .NET 1.1

I'm looking to find out specifically this: Can you share a deployment or publish folder among a team of people who can all have access to editing within the same server without having the changes overwritten? Something that has come up in discussions in the office is the use of a merge tool, obviously needed if something like this is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
