Question about Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages

    Question

  • Well, I've noticed that I have a lot of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages in my programs list.

    I have

    • 2 versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package,
    • 2 versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package,
    • and 1 version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package
My question is that, when I already have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package, can I uninstall the latter versions? I mean, if I have the most updated one (which is I guess the 2010 version), then I can remove the other versions, right? I dunno. Just asking. I hate to see many entries in my programs list.

No; they're incompatible, and thus both necessary.
