    Hi,

I know this is a question that has been answered before and I have tried all the available solutions to no avail:

Removed all previous version and components of Visual Studio 2010, 2008 and 2005.

    Cleared my %TEMP% folder.

    Disabled my antivirus.

Left the application for a few hours.

I am running Windows XP SP3 and meet the minimum requirements. It may be relevant that I downloaded this via DreamSpark.

I have attached the VSLOG, I hope someone can help.

The install is not starting at all.

How are you trying to install, from the downloaded ISO mounted on a virtual optical drive, of from burned DVD?

You can try extracting the ISO contents to your local hard drive and runn the installer from there.

If that does not help, I'd suggest you download a new ISO from Dreamspark.

I'm trying to install using a virtual drive and have extracted the files to HDD but the setup still hangs on the first screen. I don't think I have access to Dreamspark any more.

Is it possible I am just running the collector incorrectly?

No, the vslogs.cab was correctly populated. There is no install log for VS. The installation is not starting. You need to obtain a new ISO.
