Kilitli Stop multiple tab rows

How do I configure VS2010 to work like previous versions where files are only opened in one tab row and I can keep a bottom tab row for "Output", "Error List", etc.  As I double click to open files it keeps insisting periodically to make a second tab row and splitting my area vertically and I don't want it to ever do this.

    Hi Sideout,
In my VS2010, If I open multiple files , they are all in the same tab row.
But if I put the arrow in the file name in the tab, then right-click the file name, select the “New Horizontal Tab Group” or “New Vertical Tab Group”, the vs will split the file horizontally or vertically. But if I choose the “Move to Previous Tab Group”, the files will go back to previous state.

If you don’t mean this scenery, please describe it in detail. And  please try to use “devenv.exe /resetsettings” to restore Visual Studio default settings.

I know how to move the files to the previous tab or close them all to remove the tab row, but I want to never have more than one horizontal split and continually new windows seem to pop up into a another tab row and I just don't want to have to keep managing them.

    Hi Sideout,
If we don’t try to click ““New Horizontal Tab Group” or “New Vertical Tab Group”, the VS will only open the files in the same row automatically. And will not perform horizontal or vertical split.

That's not my experience.  Visual Studio seems to arbitrarily create a new horizontal tab group on me.

    Hi Sideout,

It is weird, I suggest you to use Visual Studio Setup Wizard (via Control Panel) to repair Visual Studio.

If this issue remains, I think you'd better to try to uninstall and reinstall your VS.
