TF237130: One of work item links reference new workitems, which are not defined in the same package’

My buisness process requires to create a workitem (TypeA) and link the new workitem to the Workitem(TypeB). the LinkType used here is Parent.
When the user tries to save the newly created workitem, he encounters the below error.
TF237130: One of work item links reference new workitems, which are not defined in the same package’
I understand that the workaround would be to first save the typeA work item and then link it to typeB. I cannot go about this workaround as the business process required to link while the Type A workitem is created.
Please advice on a fix.
Environment is TFS2010. Error is occuring on the TFS web Access.
Thanks,
Simi

Hi Simi,
Thanks for your post.
And sorry for any inconvenience, it seems that you need to save the new work time first, then link it to typeB. Please refer to other custom’s replies in this similar post: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tfsworkitemtracking/thread/0cbc378b-09ad-4899-865d-b418aecb8375.
Please upgrade your TFS 2010 to TFS 2010 SP1, if this still occur the same issue, I suggest you submit it to Microsoft Connect Feedback portal at: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio. Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously.
