TFS WA search has to type always “Description HTML”:MySearch

Question

1. Search in TFS only search through «Title» and «Description»

2. When you install Scrum Template from Microsoft you get a new field – “Description HTML”. This field gives you the opportunity to format text, add hyperlinks etc

3. So in all cases you make, after the Scrum Template was installed, will not be searchable with the normal TFS search field «Title» and «Description».

4. You can search “Description HTML”:MySearch – and that works, but they feel it is too much trouble to write this every time.

5. so the question is really – How can we put more standard fields into the standard search box? We want the search-box to search Title, Description, Description HTML and Retro steps

Hi Omantha,

Unfortunately, there is no way in Team Web Access 2010 to perform search on ReproSteps by default. However, this is going to be available on the new version of Team Web Access.

Thank you for reply.

Basically I installed the Scrum Template to TFS. After I installed it I am unable to do normal search in WA. When I type Description HTML at that time I can get the search result.

Hi Omantha,

I installed Scrum template, and create a team project with this template. In team web access, Search is based on Titile and Description. Following screen shot is the search result in my side.

Here are some situations i want to clarify from you:
1. What's the version of your scrum and TFS?
2. Where is the new field "Description HTML"?
3. Can you show us the screen shot of "Description HTML" field and team web access Search in your side?

1. TFS version is 2010

2. I didn't create any new project. This was after I installed scrum Template unable to search in normal way for which was before installed scrum template.

Hi Omantha,

Would you please show us any screen shot? I do not see any different with Scrum team web access.
