The Messenger service has not been started - NetSend notifications will not be sent

Question

When restarting the SQL Server agent (SQL 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 R2). I'm gettings the following error

[364] The Messenger service has not been started - NetSend notifications will not be sent.

Any ideas ?
