Silverlight เป็นเทคโนโลยีของฝั่ง client ซึ่งจะมีการใช้server ให้น้อยที่สุด

แต่ web server เองก็ยังจำเป็นต้องกำหนดค่า เพื่อให้สามารถใช้ Silverlight ได้

• server จะต้องใช้ไฟล์แบบ static ได้

• server จะต้องกำหนด MIME Type: Key: “.xap”, Value: “application/x-silverlight-app”
