Services on Server - some grayed out some not...

Question

Can someone tell me why some are grayed out and some are not in the Central Administration -> Services on Server?

I can start and stop them just fine...(at least no errors are shown)

Those which are greyed out do not offer any hyperlink, which can be used to perform additional configuration. You can start stop any service there, but most of configuration is done in central admin / manage service applications.
