.NET and H&R Block At Home Premium

Question

I'm trying to install H&R Block At Home Premium 2011 (tax software) on Windows XP. The installer says it requires .NET  and won't let me complete the installation. Now I'm trying to install .NET manually. Does anyone know what version of .NET is required by this software?

1) Please install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

2) Run the windows update. Start>>Windows Update.
3) Install all the .NET updates offerd by windows update.
4) Reboot the machine.
5) Again run the windows update and install all the offered .NET updates.
6) Rebooted the machine.
7) Install .NET Framework 4.0 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718
8) Reboot the machine.

Though this process is time taking, but after doing this you will never face any .NET Framework issues for any application.

Note:: Please ignore steps 1-6 if you already have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

If the message you see does not specify the .NET Framework version required, you should contact H&R Block technical support for that information.

You should also make sure your Windows XP is fully updated to SP3 before attempting to install .NET Frameworks.

I agree with pvdg42. You can contact the H & R block support. Ask for the required .net framework. Then install framework 4.0 from the link below.
