  • I Know this is a really old post, but I had the similar problem and found a solution that I would like to share. I went to: http://www.fix-all-dll-errors.com/

When you click on the admxprox.dll, you will get a page what to do. It comes down to these three steps, and I quote:

    1. Download & Run RegClean Pro - Download Now

    2. Click 'Start Scan' to analyze your System.

    3. Click 'Optimize' and you're done!

For me this did indeed solve the problem. After this I could install IIS without any problem on my windows xp machine. Hope this is helpfull for anyone who faces the same problem.
