  • Dannol,

It looks to me like Microsoft pulled this release back.  All I can get from the links is page can not be found.

  • Maybe there are too many threads downloading and the file server is stressed too much. Please try later. I will keep an eye on this issue or contact other groups.

    Sorry for any incontinence.

  • Dannol,

To provide feedback, this problem is being reported from almost everyone I know, including a number of MVP's in the private MVP group.  It appears as though the pages were pulled from MSDN at this point.  You might check the MVP newsgroup for further information, as I am not sure that reposting such publicly doesn't violate NDA.

  • Hi, is there any public information about why the SP3 for non-express editions were removed?

  • Seems the MSDN forums are changing the URL to the pages. I am tried several ways, but MSDN continues to modify the link after I enter. I will report this issue.

The links to the SP3 download page are (copy the link into your browser instead of click the link):
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ae7387c3-348c-4faa-8ae5-949fdfbe59c4&displaylang=en

  • The links are working now, but they were not working last night.  I know people in Australia, South Africa, India, and I am in the US who all got the same page does not exist last night.

  • Hello,

You will find a really judicious advice from Arnie Rowland on this discussion
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlanalysisservices/thread/37df712e-10c3-4e30-9e02-d108503bfee7

I think it is not the first time that there are problems with the first release of a Service Pack ( if my memory is good, there was the same problem for the SP2 which was pulled back for a day ).

I think we can wait for one or two days more ( we have already waited 3 months after the release of Sql Server 2008 to see the appearance of SP3 , what are 24 or 48 hours more : nearly nothing ).

For myself, i always prefer to wait for some days or weeks, to see whether this SP3 has some "youth problems" ( i hope you will understand as i am not sure of the english translation )

Anyway, i see that the SP3 was really waited and expected : that's a proof of confidence that Sql Server 2005 users have for this product and Microsoft.

    Have all a nice day
