  • I'd say the same, the work with business intelligence is a work which combines the financial / business know how with the IT know how. The job future is bright since the last years most of the customers i work with are searching for "something that show them the kpis" - well thats bi :-)

  • Hi Sateesh,

Yes. Bright future and no doubt about this. According to the Gartner report, it is one of the top 10 technologies. Since BI is not a one individual technology or application you will get to work on multiple technologies (tools) & Applications

    Technologies
       SQL Server
                 |_   Database Engine
                 |_   Integration Services
                 |_   Analysis Services
                  |_  Reporting Services
       Applications
                 |_ Performance Point Server
                 |_ Office products
                 |_ Proclarity
What I have described above are just a few of the Items comes under BI.

So my recommendation is seriously consider the offer.
    Thanks, Ashok -http://dugaputiashok.blogspot.com/

  • Hi AshokDugaputi,

Just wondering: based on what you are so optimistic about PPS and ProClarity? When you think we'll see new releases of PPS and ProClarity?

PPS has been incorporated into Sharepoint and the next release will come with Sharepoint 2010. Unfortunately it looks like Proclarity is not getting any attention and is just being left to die.

  • From best of my knowledge new SharePoint 2010 will not include the Performance Point Planning product (abandoned Biz#?). Without this module all the bells and whistles are not really innovative.

That is true, the planning product is dead, there will not be any future releases. PerformancePoint Services in Sharepoint 2010 is only the Monitoring and Analytics side of things. It was a shame to see Biz# go, I think a lot of people were watching, waiting for V2.
