Regarding URL Access in SharePoint Integrated mode

All replies

  • Hi Jayaram,

It depends on your SQL Server version.

    For SQL Server 2008 (R2):

Please open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, click the “Web Service URL” tab, and double check the Report Server Web Service URL. If it is http://myspsite/subsite/_vti_bin/reportserver indeed, then the URL access to the report in Documents folder is:

    http://myspsite/subsite/_vti_bin/reportserver?http://myspsite/subsite/AdventureWorks 2008R2/Employee_Sales_Summary_2008R2.rdl

Note: Please pay attention to the ports used by the Report Server Web Service URL, it may be different from that of the SharePoint Web application.

    For SQL Server 2012:

Since SQL Server 2012, the Reporting Services SharePoint mode runs as a Service Application of SharePoint, hence, the Report Server Web Service URL in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager doesn’t apply to the report server that runs in SharePoint mode. Since you have obtained the SSRS proxy, the URL access is:

    http://hodentekwin7/_vti_bin_/ReportServer?http://myspsite/subsite/AdventureWorks 2008R2/Employee_Sales_Summary_2008R2.rdl

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

  • Hi Jayaram,

    Thanks for your posting.

I suspect that the URL of the SSRS proxy is not correct. The following URL should work:

    http://myspsite/subsite/_vti_bin/reportserver?http://hodentekwin7/Documents/Simple Paramter.rdl

Note: I am not sure if it is a report named Parameter in the Simple folder or a report named Simple Parameter in the Documents library, please correct it according to your situation.

  • I am using SQL Server 2012 and what I have on SPS is the RS Service. SQLServer (two instances, one native the other SharePoint Integrated mode). On the same laptop I have SP Server 2010.

Power Shell's Get-SPRSProxyURL gives me the URL

http://hodentekwin7/_vti_bin_/ReportServer  I therefore assumed that this is the ReportServer

If I use, as you indicate (which is also what the documentation says) , http://hodentekwin7/_vti_bin_/ReportServer&http://hodentekwin7/Documents/Simple Parameter.rdl

    I get this error.

This error (HTTP 400 Bad Request) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the web server, but the webpage could not be found because of a problem with the address.

If I use type, http://hodentekwin7/Documents/Simple%20Parameter.rdl in IE

    This changes immediately to, http://hodentekwin7/_layouts/ReportServer/RSViewerPage.aspx?rv:RelativeReportUrl=/documents/simple%20parameter.rdl

    and the report is displayed.

I am not sure if some redirection is taking place!

Another reason I believe the proxy is correct, because I can find the correct WSDL associated with SharePoint server as in this

    http://hodentekWin7/_vti_bin/ReportServer/ReportService2006.asmx?wsdl
