Will a SQL Server embedded be developed?

Answers

  • By SQL Server embedded I assume you mean a version of SQL Server that will run on Windows embedded OS?  That's something we're currently investigating but we don't have a committed plan for when this will happen yet.

  • From what I heard, Access is not going to change from Jet in the next version.

  • by embedded, I meant a sql engine that runs in the client program's memory space.  Jet is an example.  Has nothing to do with embedded OS.

MSDE is not an embedded sql engine as it runs in its own process.
