Where is the import/export wizard in SQL Server Express 2008?

    Question

  • I have read that in the 2005 version, it isn't included. However, it seems that the 2008 version does have it... On the Microsoft web  (http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/)  it is included as an Sql Server Express 2008 feature:
    • SQL Server 2008 Express provides high-end database features
      • Support for new data types and features like spatial data, HierarchyID, and FileStream makes it easier to model complex data
      • Support for MERGE, GROUPING SETS, sparse columns and table-valued parameters makes it easier to write T-SQL code
      • New Import/Export wizard makes it easy to migrate data
The thing is that I have it installed on my computer and I cannot find it. I need to import a database from access and I don't know how to do it...

    Thanks for your help!

  • I don't have management studio express 2008 installed yet, but in 2005 it is:

Right-click on the target database > Tasks > Import Data

It may be the same for 2008

  • Thank you very much!!!
It was right over there...  but as it is the Express version, it didn't let me save the tables anyway ... Sad

    But thanks again!!
