SQL Server 2005 - 180 Day Trial Edition

    Question

  • Can this trial version be upgraded to a fully licensed version once a license has been purchased without the need to re-install.
I will be buying an Open Volume license once it is available but would like to set up the server initially with the trial version

  • If you mean the Evaluation Edition, yes it can be upgraded through setup to:

    SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition

    SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition

    SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition

    SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition

    SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

  • Please be aware there is an issue with upgrade from Evaluation to Express for SQL Server 2005 RTM, if you go through the upgrade path of Evaluation to Express to Developer Edition and you have replication setup in Evaluation, replication will break when you are in Developer stage. The issue will be resolved in next release of SQL Server.

  • Hi..I have an application which I tested in SQl Server 2000 SP3. This application was even certified on SQL 2005. Since SP4 has come out, do I need to re-certify this application on 2000 SP4 again? or the 2005 certification should do fine?
