Query Processing Architecture - SQL Server 2005 Vs 2008

    Question

  • Hi,

    1. Are there any changes in query processing architecture in 2008 as compared to SS 2005 ? As i read something about PATITIONED table and INDEXES changes. Other than these, Are there any more changes ?
    2. Are there any improvements OR enhancements in SS 2008 to process the SELECT and DML statements more efficently ? If so then would these changes create any effect on Queries, Stored Procedure and funtions written in SS 2005 ?

    Thanks
