  • There are many reasons of SQL server connectivity issue.

Go through with below checklist that may helps to find  out the real cause of connectivity issue :-

      • Check SQL services are running
      • Check SQL Browser service is running
      • Check remote connections are enabled
      • Network connectivity between database & application servers by TRACERT command
      • Check TCP/IP protocol enabled at SQL server
      • Check talent connectivity - telnet <IP address> <port no on SQL server running>
      • Check UDP port 1434 is open or not on SQL Server
      • Check firewall is running or not Check
      • If firewall running, SQL Server & UDP port must be added in exception in firewall

  • Another thing is that i cant connect or register the SQLServer from my computer, it gives connection error.

I've checked all sql services are running, its a window app, remote connection enabled, network connections are fine and no firewall issue.

  • have you check Ping, tracert & telnet? It is working fine or not.

You are using named instance or default instance ?

You are using SQL user or windoes user to connect?
