Trying to upgrade SQL Server Express SP1 to SP2

    Question

  • Hello,

I have a few problems trying to upgrade SP1 to SP2 with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 with Advandanced Services.

When I run this package SQLServer2008R2SP2-KB2630458-x64-ENU.exe from this site, it fails.

    The summary message says:

Exit message:   Attributes do not match. Present attributes (Directory, Compressed) , included attributes (0), excluded attributes (Compressed, Encrypted).

The attributes on the folders is DC. What can I do about this?

This is what is currently on the server:

    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (X64)   Apr  2 2010 15:48:46   Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation  Express Edition with Advanced Services (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) (Hypervisor)

The other problem is trying to find the correct SP2.

These have the whole installs, but I just need theP2 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30438

These page has SP2 for Express Edition 2008 R2, but does not have the Advanced http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30437. Will these work for Express Edition with Advanced Servcies? Where can I get SP2 for Express Edition with Advanced Services  2008 R2?

    Thanks

    Paul
