SQL 2012 Installation hangs

Answers

  • Hello,

"SQL Server Setup will block installations on read-only, mapped, or compressed drives"
it's not on, but from in my case.

I have performed a reduced installation and that works !

It seems there is a problem with an element of the installation.
however the installation took a few hours to complete !
I will try to install other features step by step.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Strange: in the log file, I can see:
"Slp: Sco: File 'Z:\1033_ENU_LP\x64\setup\x86\SSDTStub.msi' does not exist"

    and that's true !

  • Would you please upload/share SQL Server setup logs, you can use file sharing/storage service like SkyDrive.com to upload the logs.

To  locate SQL Server setup logs check-out

  • Hello,

Could you try to copy SQL Server 2012 media to the hard drive and run SQL Server setup from there.

The MSI is missing on the Z drive but you are looking for it on the F drive.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello Alberto,

Z drive is mapped from F drive on another computer.
    Regards,
