ReportViewer session time out

    Question

  • Hi,
    I have a #net system which disconnects inactive clients after X minutes.
    If the user request any page and the session is not valid any more he will be redirect to login page.
    It works on all aspx pages and it is not working on aspx pages which use ReportViewer to show Ssrs reports.
    What do I need to do  amke it work on ReportViewer pages?

    Thx

  • Hi Yosi6996,

    The ReportViewer control waits 600000 milliseconds for server communications by default.

    To make the pages with the ReportViewer, please set the timeout of the ReportViewer to equal the timeout of the .NET application.

           ReportViewer1.ServerReport.Timeout = <the timeout value>

    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

    Thanks,

    Jin

  • Thx for your reply Jin
    I was talking about IIS session time out and not about communication with report server.
    In my application (for security reasons) if the user was inactive for X minutes the session will expired and the user will be redirect to login page.
    It's working fine on all pages and not working on the pages that contains ReportViewer object

    Thx
