    I am not able to start SQL SERVER agent. I am Posting the error log below .

    Please help.

  • With the respect to case explanation above , I do think it is relevant to missing sufficient privileges for the SQL Service account , thereby you have 2 options :

    • Grant sufficient dbo_onwer privileges for this service account on msdb  DB and add this user to a proxy on the relevant components like ( active ,CMDexe, SSIS Package execution, Replication distributor..)

    (Recommended security practice)

    • Or Grant sys admin privileges for this service account

    Kindly work out it and let me know your feedback

    Thanks for the reply,

    Actually services are running under local system account and it is having full privileges.

    And we are not able to start AGent it self kindly suggest how to start it

    Its very much urgent

  • Does the OS eventlog tell you something?

    Check remote connections (little chance)

    and sometimes a reboot can help when you don't expect it.

  • Is that SQL server service is running fine, Please check that one also..

    verify is there any recently any modification done at the SQL like removing sysadmin for builtinadmin and verify do you have the proper permission as well.

    Also can you check SQLAgent.OUT and paste it here.
