Uninstalling SqlServer2005 form command prompt

    Question

  • When I run this command on comand prompt "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\Setup.exe" /Action=Uninstall /FEATURES=SQL,AS,RS,IS,Tools /INSTANCENAME=BIROKRAT2005 /Q /HIDECONSOLE

I get this window and uninstall stops...

someone tell me what is wrong?

    Thanks

Answers

  • Are you sure you have SQL 2005 and not 2008? If yes, please use the following syntax

    Start /wait <CD or DVD Drive>\setup.exe /qb REMOVE=SQL_Engine,Client_Components INSTANCENAME=<InstanceName>

Please refer to the section To remove a default, stand-alone installation of SQL Server 2005 from the command prompt

    from this link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259(v=sql.90).aspx
