    • What is the information needs for synchronization?

You can synchronize the data between SQL Server instances by using different high availability locations like log shipping and replication mirroring, We use one or combination based on your business requirements so what information is needed is depends on the solution you choose.

    • Isn't all synchronization in two ways?

Yes, all synchronization is not in two ways, If you take log shipping it is one way, If you take merge replication it is two ways.

    • Why we need FTP instead of MS default function?

We don't need FTP to use SQL Server log shipping, replication, mirroring.

What is the synchronize period for synchronization?

This depends on your your primary DB transactions voluem and type of sql server option you use and how often you sync your db, If your primary db has less transactions your sync will take less time.
