  • That JPG is helpful, but hasn't Microsoft released a code snippet of the same thing? I am about to release a Silverlight site and I would love to badge it properly. Microsoft should make it easy for me to market their products.

  •  Howdy kids. After more searching I found what I was looking for. Here is a video of the animation and a PNG of the logo text.

  • I see that link is now defective. I'll salvage my version off an archive when I get home tonight and post it up since people are still looking for this. What's up with that, Microsoft? Chris

  • Howdy kids,

Well I found it. You can find it here:

I used it to create the loading screen here:

    Thanks!

I checked out your work at VSRNet.Com. Nice work!

Are you creating the popup screens (User controls) at runtime or are they created at design and you only turn the visibility On/Off?

If you're creating those objects (User Controls) at run time, you may want to put a mask screen between the parent form and the popup form, to prevent from clicking on the parent form to create another copy of the object. This way, you can create it and when they close it, you kill the object and no memory loss. Just a thought!

  • Thanks Ben. Best as I can remember (it was 6 months ago) the screens are all pre-designed. I load them up at runtime during the loading animation and then turn visibility on and off as needed per pop-up.

Ok, then you're safe! But for future, if you decide to create UC on the fly, watch out for blocking user to create more than one instance before they are forced to close the active one, like the good old Modal dialog box!

  • Any way you think to make the white transparent. Working on an internal Microsoft project right now in silverlight(whole page is Silverlight), and would be a nice touch to put the logo in the bottom left or something. Bottom is orange/red so would be nice to have a transparent one if there is one. Or if there's a way to make all white transparent in Silverlight. Think I've seen WPF do it, but not Silverlight.
