silverlight.msi

    Question

  • Everytime I try to upgrade, uninstall, reinstall or alter MS silverlight in any way it the install program tells me that I need to locate silverlight.msi. I have run searches during the install, after the install and after the install, but I have come across nothing. The help files tell me to uninstall and reinstall, but I can not uninstall without the file. Anybody know a solution? Thanks

  • I'm having the same problem and that thread doesn't solve the issue. It gives things to try but it didn't work for that user nor for me. I'm about to give up on Silverlight as it shouldn't be this hard to use.

  • I am having the same issue and Add/Remove Programs will not work (surprise!) there seems to be some sort of disconnect with a registry key?? Silverlight installer continually looks in the same "default" folder for silverlight.msi. c:\temp\ext46564\silverlight.msi

--and this ext46564 directory does not even exist.

Silverlight's incomplete installation is also keeping the automatic updates shield in the task bar since it cant update silverlight if it cant find its installation.
