I have configured outgoing email settings for Sharepoint 2010 Webapplication by providing Outbound SMTP Server, From Address, Reply to address etc. Email just works fine. But i want recepients to reply to the email address specifed in Reply to address. But
this does not work and users still are able to reply to the account which was used to send the Email (From Address)
We usually don’t need to reply alert e-mails. That is the reason why we suggest personalizing the From address and Reply-to address.
What is your outbound SMTP server’s type? Exchange server or not?
I suppose that you were using Exchange server. You need to input a valid mailbox address under reply-to address. Nevertheless, you can input any address whatever you
like under from address. The From address is used to display an address to e-mail recipients.
