  • Check that the wss.resx (or wss.locale.resx) resource file is inside the App_GlobalResources of your virtual directory. This is an OOTB key that should be present.

  •  One thing I have noticed is the source file is in a folder called ControlTemplates2. I wonder if this could be the issue. Has this been set up as a virtual directory also? Can you confirm that this webpart works on the original development machine..so there is no issue in relation to the actual webpart itself, and likely to be environment related?

  • In my case I set "Hidden" atribute to folder "C:\Inetpub"(this is a system IIS folder, as I googled later). When accesing sharepoint site, I get the same error. I unchecked "Hidden" attribute on this folder and included files, restared IIS and this resolved this problem.

  • Hi,

One of the main reasons for Parser Error is the difference of NET FRAMEWORK version which both IIS and ASP.NET uses. Possibliy these are using different framework versions.

This could be happen also in case your hosting server uses forward/backward framework versions, or just started to do this.

may be this would be of help.

    regards
