            message.

    C. Checked User Profile Service status it is started.

    D. At the same time able to add primary site collection administrator from active directory for windows enabled web application.

    F. Not able to start the "User Profile Synchronization Service" - Stucking at starting.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Additional Information:

Server details:Windows Server 2008 R2, SharePoint 2010, SQL Server 2008 R2 all are on same (one) box.

  • I'm assuming you have installed all the Sharepoint 2010 pre-requisites including Windows Identity Foundation?

  • Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your kind reply.

The Claims to Windows Token Service is started. And also I have tried adding user through command prompt using stsadm tool. I am getting "Access denied" message.

  • Are you trying to add this site collection administrator through Central Administration?  Is the account you are using a farm administrator?  If you click on the address book are you able to search for and resolve the user name (spadmin)?

  • Hi Andrew,

Yes, I am trying to add the site collection administrator through Central Administration.

The spadmin account which i am trying to add is a farm administrator only.

If I click on address book and then, if I search for user am getting "No exact match was found. Click the item(s) that did not resolve for more options"message.

Please let me know if I need to provide more infomation.

    Regards

  • Check to ensure the account used to run the service in the application pool for  central administration is active and the password has not expired.
