Hi,
Can someone tell me the correct upgrade/migration path for the following:
We have a SQL 2008 R1 server with SharePoint 2010 Content databases on hardware that needs replacing, so we are purchasing a new server and will install SQL 2008 R2 on the server.
We will need to configure the new SQL 2008 R2 server to connect to our SharePoint 2010 server, and we will need to migrate our current R1 databases over to the new R2 server.
If anyone can advise on the easiest way to accomplish this, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
Steve

and we will need to migrate our current R1 databases over to the new R2 server.
In a nutshell, you have to backup the database on R1, copy over the backup file, restore the database on R2. Server accounts/db users must be configured similarly to R1.

Hi,
We have Sharepoint 2010 with SQL Server R1, so we got new server having SQL 2008 R2, so we plan to migrate our sharepoint Config, Content,Profile,Sync,BDC to new SQL server of R2 and point to Sharepoint 2010 to new SQL server.
We are looking Proc & cons for this migration and any sharepoint patch required to point New SQL version. Please guide me
