11 февраля 2010 г. 15:52I'm not sure but are we completely change the face of the SharePoint 2010 Portal like http://www.kroger.com/ and other great MOSS 2007 sites?

12 февраля 2010 г. 5:01Actually what i'm asking is with lots ribbon controls and other stuff, still we can really change or customize the 2010 like we use to do in 2007?
18 февраля 2010 г. 18:07The short answer is yes, you can. The key is of course not showing the ribbon for annonymous users and only showing it for content authors. I am planning a blog post on this soon because everyone seems to be asking this question. For example you can look at beta.sharepoint911.com (which is running on SP2010) and see that it looks remarkably similar to www.sharepoint911.com which is by design. You can't put the sp911 beta site in edit mode, but if you could you would see the ribbon at the top.

18 февраля 2010 г. 19:45Hi,
Randy is correct. Customization is still open ended (if there's a will there's a way). For contributers, it will be helpful to have the ribbon since SharePoint interaction for 2010 was designed around it. There are a couple alternatives however. One is to keep your site using v3 UI which will work pretty much like 2007. Second, you can set web parts and views to include a toolbar, just like in 2007. This will give contributers actionable buttons.
The following forum post gives an example for how to hide the ribbon for a certain permission level.
Hope this helps!
