run .bat file

Question

i have java code and batch files to be executed in a sequence but i am not able run any batch file(consists of EX: java client                                                         PAUSE)

when i double clicked cmd prompt and typed .BAT file name i got following message " 'java' is not recognised as internal or external command ,operable program or batch file. "

I have ensured that batch file is in same directory as code...
