Automatically refresh power pivot data without sharepoint

Dear all,

I have read many sources on the web and still can't find the answer on my question.

My partner uses PowerPivot for Excel 2010 spreadsheets but does not have Sharepoint 2010. How could I provide the powerpivot data is refreshed on excel file open - without to publish it to the Sharepoint? Can we expect some solution in this way in further versions of PowerPivot?

Hi,

As of now, you can only schedule the refresh the power pivot data after it got uploaded to share point. You need to use "refresh" button inside power pivot window to refresh inside Excel.  You can't automatically refresh when excel  is opened.

We can expect the solution in the later versions. You can try to log a request in Microsoft connect so that they might consider your proposal.
