Răspuns Question About Installing PowerPivot

I have Office 2010; just downloaded & installed Power Pivot.  I can't get it to 'stick'.  I installed the AddIn, from .COM.  Here's an image:

I hit 'OK' but I don't see any tab for Power Pivot.  If I close excel and re-open it, I still don't see the tab for Power Pivot.  I actually have to go to File > Options > AddIns > Manage > Com AddIns > Go . . . and it is UNCHECKED!!  I check it and hit OK, and it is STILL NOT ADDED.  I can't seem to AddIn the AddIn.  Am I missing something simple or what???

    Thanks!!

I just uninstalled PP from Control Panel > Programs and Features, and then reinstalled it.  Now, I still can't get Excel to load the PP tab.  Check out this view:

PP seems to be disabled.  What do I need to do to get this working?

    I'm using Windows 7 & Office 2010 Pro Plus.

    Hello Ryan,

Do you have MS Office 64 Bit? Then you also have to install PP 64 Bit to get it working.

Good point!  I have MS Office 2010 32-bit and PP 32-bit.  Just confirmed both.  I suspected this initially, because I wouldn't have been able to setup and install PP if one was 32 and the other 64.  The problem seems to be that PP is NOT loading into Excel.  See my first image.  It literally says 'Load Behavior: Unloaded'.  I guess that's the problem.  This si the first time I'm attempting to use PP, so i don't really know how the installation process goes, but i'd suspect it is supposed to be a heck of a lot easier than it is turning out to be for me.  Maybe there is some setting in Windows, or something.  I would think you just load the COM AddIn, as I described in the first image, and that it!!

    Hi Ryan,

You can try to run an msiexec from the command prompt as an administrator, you can refer to the steps in this thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlkjpowerpivotforexcel/thread/bdebb31f-8b86-40f8-94ac-cf6c80cea0a2

Thanks everyone!  It is working now!!

I did some research on this a found a few useful things.  I followed all of the instructions here:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ronpih/archive/2009/11/18/office-14-beta-2-powerpivot-for-excel-ctp3-you-must-install-office-shared-tools.aspx

    Then, follow these steps:
    1. Open Excel and select File->Options->Addins->Manage and select Disabled items in the dropdown.
    2. Click Go and then select: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Modeler.FieldList.Addin.Integration
    3. Close and reopen Excel.
