I got the hids for the scanner and created the xml file.
I coped the xml file to the control configurations directory.
When I run posdm listdevices it displays
Scanner Honeywell Yes
(there is no path like in Fig 2.7) and it should also say Example Scanner like I defined in the xml file.
If I run the sample application and try to open the scanner, I get this exception.
Microsoft.PointOfService.PosLibraryException: Failed to create a type for ProgId OPOS.Scanner.

Test app will load Scanner on in the list box. When I expand it out, it says Honeywell. I get the exception when I try to open the device.

Here is where it gets the name Honeywell. The device is validated fine here.

I downloaded the wrong drivers.
HSM OPOS Suite - WRONG
HSM POS4NET Suite - RIGHT!
