StockTrader installation issues / comparing with WSO2 StockTrader

Hi,

I tried tp install the StockTrader demo on my Windows XP machine where I have a SQL Server 2008 Developer instance running.

Installing it failed while database setup (I have tested it twice with sa account - connection test worked). The MSI was about 33MByte and the software panel tells me it is a version 1.0.0.

I came to it from trying WSO2 StockTrader application telling me it needs the version 2.0. Anyhow I got the version 1.0.0. Now I can't uninstall the product.

How to get rid of this or upgrade to a version that is more recent, but also runs on XP?

The installer tries to create a Config.MSI folder in my mapped drive (Q: => C:\SomePath)

Yes, that is a very old version.  The latest is version 5.0, I believe should still install on XP, although officially tested on Vista, win 7, win server 2008, and win 8 beta.

You can download the latest version by visiting http://msdn.microsoft.com/stocktrader.  You should just delete the existing install directory, and when installing 5.0, specify default install location of c:\stocktrader.
