    I have multiple programs of Microsoft Visual C++ as follows.  Can I uninstall some of these versions?

    • 2005 ATL Update kb973923
    • 2005 Redistributable, 2 diff. versions
    • 2008 Redistributable, 2 same versions of KB24671
    • 2008 Redistributable - x64, 3 diff. versions
    • 2008 Redistributable - x86, 2 diff. versions

    Also, in general, when another version of any program comes out, must the previous version remain in Programs?   Or does the newer version automatically uninstall previous unneeded versions?

    Thanks for your help.

    These redistributables are needed to support various programs you have installed on your system. The different versions are needed as used by the developers when the software was written. My advice: leave them alone.
