Is there a way to repair or reinstall VSTO 2010?

I've tried to repair VS2010 but it did not work.

    As additional information, the folders:

    - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Visual Studio Tools for Office

    -C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VSTA

    are empty!

    OFFICE INSTALLED: 2010 PROFISSIONAL

    Hi Oric.CQ,

    Thanks for your post.

From your description, you may have to completely uninstall Visual Studio 2010 and then reinstall it.

Please first fully uninstall 2010 SP1 then try this tool to uninstall Visual Studio 2010:

    http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2010uninstall

I suggest you try this command when using this tool:

    Complete (VS2010_Uninstall-RTM.ENU.exe /full /netfx)

Removes entire set of Visual Studio 2010 and supporting products, including Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 and components shared with previous versions of Visual Studio. Note: may break features of previous versions of Visual Studio or other products taking dependency on Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.

    Hi, Barry!

I followed yours suggestions: removed VS2K10 SP1 and for VS2k10, I unsed Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Uninstall Utility with /full/netfx.

    Then, I reinstalled VS2k10 and SP1.

Now, when I try to create VSTO projects (Excel Template or Excel Workbook ), I got the following error message (for Excel Add-Ins, VS2010 works nice):

This registry key refers to (MS Office 2010 is installed in my computer):

    Any suggestion to fix this?

Many thanks for any kind of help.

    Best regards,

    Ciro.

Hi Ciro, could you please take a screenshot of the folders on the left in regedit? If possible, plesae capture the expanded "VisualStudio" folder as I would like to see the contents of that folder, thanks!

I, with the help of GiriSFS, Barry and SystemX (many thanks, guys) got the solution:

1- Uninstall VS2010 SP1 (more than three times)

2- Uninstall VS 2010 (more than three times)

    3- Run VS 2010 Uninstall Utility (complete: /full /netfx).

4- Install VS 2010 (more than three times)

5- Install VS 2010 SP1 (more than three times)

I hope these tips help others developers.

    Best regards,

    Ciro
