I am trying to find out a way to programmatically (using  C#) change the datasource of an excel file linked to powerpivot from one SQL Server connection to another and automatically refresh all the data using this new connection without having to do this manually using the interface.  Can this be done?

It seems that you have to change the connection string manually, besides, I will recommend you could submit a feedback to the Microsoft Connect at this link https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback This connect site is a connection point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the larger community. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, and you can learn about and contribute to exciting projects.

    Hi SP10,

I was wondering whether you had finally found a solution to your problem? I am facing the same issue now, I would appreciate if you could shed some light.

    Thanks,
