Audience Targeting not working in SP2010 Calendar

Question

I have created a new calendar in a site and checked the "Enable Audience Targeting" checkbox in the List Settings>Audience Targeting area.  I have also confirmed that the Target Audience is properly configured in Central Admin, and that it has members as expected (39 members to be exact).

I can use the target audience in question, elsewhere on the site, with the expected results (e.g. SharePoint will successfully hide an item on the Left navigator from anyone but the same audience in the same site, by using the "Audience" field  when editing the link using Site Actions>Site Settings>Navigation).

This leads me to believe the Audience feature is working on our service, just not maybe for the Calendar "applet" in general. 

Is there a problem with SharePoint 2010?  We have the latest service packs installed that Microsoft offers.  Was there a service pack ever created to resolve this error, that we could try to apply again for example?

Hi,

Did the issue only occur in calendar list? Please try a test in a normal list to check if the issue can be reproduced.

Please make sure the user profile service is started properly and try do a full profile synchronization.

The issue seems to be affecting our "Annoucements" list on the main site as well.  I cannot for instance, have it only show given announcements only to given audiences.  It just shows all annoucements to everyone regardless of the announcements "audience".  The user profile service is started and is doing full profile snychronization.  Last synch was automatically performed as early as 1 AM EST or so the Log Files say so.

So to be clear - the audience feature is working when it comes to managing the Left Navigator, but now I can see it is not working when it comes to an Announcement List, AND a Calendar so far.  What else can I test for you?

Did you ever resolve this issue?

I have the same thing happening, enabled audience targeting for list items in a link list, checked the Schedule for audience compilation.

Set the Audience for specific Items to SharePoint groups, and test as different users, all items remain visible....

Any pointers?
