Answered Sharepoint 2010 custom site template problem

    I have a site collection that is fully functioning. now I have saved this site as template(.wsp), when I am trying to create a new site collection based on this template I get a very stange error:

    Error 

    A duplicate field name "Body" was found.

    Troubleshoot
    issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

    Correlation ID:
    9fed59d3-62fd-4513-90e6-7e0fa8d85c6b

    How can I find this Body tag? and how to fix this?

    As per this thread, you cannot create a publishing subsite as a root site of a site collection.

    However, you might be able to remove the field in question and redeploy the template as shown in this article and see if it works. Good luck!

    When you 'Save site as a Template', it only creates the template file which includes particular SPWeb.

    It does not create the package of your whole site collection, so when you create a new site using your SAVED Site Template, you can create a SPWeb site but not the whole site collection.

    So, the scope of your Custom Site Template is upto creating the sub-sites, but not the whole site collection

    Thank you for your replies.

    I followed the article and it solved my problem, now I can create the site collection but when I try to create new site I get file not found error, and when I look in all site content I se the site I created but I am not able to open it.
