Custom Dispform.aspx

quarta-feira, 22 de agosto de 2012 14:10Is there a way to create a custom dispform.aspx which is generic to all lists? I have a client requirement where the disform should show only certain attributes. Lets say for all Announcements in all sites and subsites, a specific set of fields would be shown. Again lets say for News across all sites and subsites, client wants to show specific attributes for that content type.

Hi ddasgupta,
From your description, I know that you need to create a content type can be used for all sites? Then the display form for the special content type will available to use for all sites.
If you only need to use on a certain site, you can create the content type from browser, then the content type will available to use for all this site and its subsites.
If you need it to work for multiple sites, please create the content type and deploy as feature. See this blog for the details.
