Hi all,
Obvious question I thought but can't find anyone else who has asked it!
Simply, it would be good to start building shell extensions based on the default shell xaml providied in LS RTM.
Is there any chance of MS releasing this?

If you follow this tutorial it will create a shell that is very close to the default one:

terça-feira, 2 de agosto de 2011 18:29The shell provided with the tutorial has several significant changes from the base shell. From what I've seen it wouldn't be a simple matter of "undoing" the tutorial changes to arrive back at the base - there is probably a lot of code missing. If the base shell is implemented identically to other shell extensions it would be ideal to have that same code available for use as a starting point for real applications.

(plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose!)

The DELORDSON Shell comes very close to the default LightSwitch shell and has a source version:

A new custom LightSwitch Shell extension from DELORDSON, which gives you the look, feel and functionality of the built in default shell, giving you the ability to add you own customizations. This is the code for the default shell that you have been looking for

As announced in the blog post (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lightswitch/archive/2012/03/15/lightswitch-cosmopolitan-shell-and-theme-for-visual-studio-11-beta-released.aspx) titled "LightSwitch Cosmopolitan Shell and Theme for Visual Studio 11 Beta Released":
"The team plans to make it as the default shell and theme when we ship VS11 (you still have the option to use the existing Office-style shell and theme). We also plan to release the extension source code for the new shell and theme to the community at that time."

Did the team plan to ever release the source to the existing Office-style shell or theme?
